As part of your start-up project, various funding instruments are accessible to you. These opportunities will help you to acquire initial investors and minimize your personal risk.
The EXIST scholarship will support you - as long as you are a student, graduate, or researcher from a university or another research institution - to transform your fledgling idea into a business plan. Your start-up project should be an innovative technology-based or knowledge-based project with good economic prospects. The EXIST scholarship is funded by the German Ministry of Economy and Energy. It is co-financed by the European Social Fund. For more information about the application process, please contact Dr. Kornelia van der Beek (firstname.lastname@example.org
The EXIST Transfer of Research promotes technology-based business start-up projects in the pre-start-up and the start-up stage. The purpose of the first funding phase is to support research teams at universities or research institutes so as to enable them to provide proof for the technological feasibility of their product idea and to prepare the business start-up. During the second funding phase, the newly founded technology-oriented companies can be supported to continue the product design, for instance up to the prototype realization and to be able to solicit external funding for their company. For more information please contact Dr. Kornelia van der Beek (email@example.com).
The aim of our pilot project is to help minimize the financial obstacles in getting your start- up off the ground. In order to accomplish this, you as a future business founder can utilize fully-furnished premises and workplaces free of charge for a limited period of time. As potential entrepreneurs, you will have the opportunity to promote your business concepts in a simple and inexpensive way within a professional work atmosphere.

Idea Competition Rhineland-Palatinate
Since 2009 the annual idea competition Rhineland-Palatinate offers the opportunity to present your ideas. All pupils and students, as well as academic staff, who live in Rhineland-Palatine can participate. The jury consists of independent representatives from science, industry, and politics. Ideas can be either products or new services /processes related to a business field, company, or environment, which do not yet exist in this form. Suggestions for improvement are also welcome. Any number of business ideas can be submitted.
With startsocial you can submit an idea or a project …
- that is focused on a sustainable solution for a social problem ,
- where people are the center of attention,
- which is mainly supported by volunteerism,
- and which is mainly located within Germany.
Individuals and teams, as well as institutions or companies, can participate. Startsocial focuses on innovative ideas and projects that are on the verge of being implemented and ongoing projects with consulting needs
Participation in startsocial is independent of the degree of realization and the maturity period of the idea or project. The jury will take into consideration the varying different positions. The uniqueness of a project idea is not the sole condition for participating in startsocial. Rather, the transferability of the initiative will be rated. ("Would it be possible to realize the project idea in another place?")
